Technical facts and figures

The Science Tunnel is 150 meters long and requires an area of 850 to 1,000 square meters. It consists of an entrance, an exit and 12 themed modules. These are all 5.4 meters wide, 5.5 meters long and 3.7 meters high. The exhibition can be arranged in a straight line, a circle or an S-shape.

The exhibition modules can easily be added to, for example, with additional exhibits, interactive elements or information terminals. Supplemented in this way, the Science Tunnel can provide insight into the research being carried out in the host country and show which institutions there are researching in its 12 subject areas.

The exhibition weighs approximately 25 tons and is transported in two 40 foot sea containers. It takes five qualified technicians, an electrician and a media technician 12 days to erect it. It is taken apart and loaded up in 5 working days.

The media technology currently consists of 16 video projectors, 13 monitors, 26 DVD units, 8 AMX media control units and 14 sound systems. There are also numerous exhibits, some of which are interactive, which do not require operator intervention. Visitors can be guided through the exhibition with a modern audio port system.
